Some iOS 11 user reported that they are facing issues with launching the GarageBand App on their iOS 11 device.
The App crushes , whenever they try to open it. In other words , one cannot use the GarageBand music app Once they upgrade their iOS device to iOS 11. The problem so far reported on iPhone 7, iPhone 7 plus, iPhone 6s, iPad pro, iPad pro 10.5 etc.
But lucky Apple is aware of the bug related to GarageBand App. Apple in a support document , clearly mentioned that they are aware of the problem and that they are working on it .
They on a support document, mentioned a method with the help of which you can use the app but the problem is the save video or music files will not be stored in iCloud but will be stored locally. Below is the method to use the GarageBand App till Apple fix the bug.
Solution to use GarageBand on iOS 11
If GarageBand won’t open after updating your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to iOS 11, follow the steps give below.
- Go to Settings > [your name], and tap iCloud.
- Under “Apps Using iCloud,” turn off GarageBand. You won’t be able to access any GarageBand songs stored in iCloud Drive until this issue is fixed, but they won’t be removed from iCloud. New songs will be saved to your device.

@mattswider I updated to IOS 11 on both my iPhone 7+ and iPad Pro & now GarageBand doesn’t work on either! The app loads then dies! #sad

@AppleSupport I just updated to iOS 11 with no major issues except for the fact GarageBand crashes immediately upon opening!!!

This how you can continue using GarageBand App on your iOS 11 device till Apple fix the problem. Apple is already aware of the issue and they are investigating the solution.
